As part of the decommissioning process, an initial Phase II Environmental Site Assessment was conducted on a former Bulk Fuel Facility that operated from the early 1960s to 2002.

In 2003, a third-party contractor conducted a phase II Environmental Site Assessment ("ESA") due to light non-aqueous phase liquid (LNAPL) observed in one of the Underground Storage Tanks ("USTs") nest piezometers

An Above Storage Tank ("AST") fuel spill occurred at the site on July 19, 2010, of which 3,581 litres of 10% blended ethanol gasoline leaked into a containment dyke.
