April 14, 2022
Saskatoon, April 14, 2022 - Environmental Material Science Inc. (ems-inc.ca) (“EMS”) is proud to announce they are the winner of the 2022 Startup TNT Cleantech Investment Summit (startuptnt.com).
As winner of the Cleantech Investment summit, EMS is receiving over $250,000 in investment from a syndicate of 39 angel investors from across Western Canada. This investment will be added to the capital currently being raised to execute EMS’s 36-month growth strategy.
“This is a proud moment in our young company’s journey”, said Steve Siciliano, CEO of EMS. “We believe that we are building a company that is going to have a profound impact in the soil remediation and ESG industries and being named as overall winner within the Cleantech category of this Summit affirms us in our belief. The money raised through the Summit will be added to our war chest that will be used to grow the company over the next 3 years.”
EMS would like to congratulate the other finalists and wish them the best of success in their respective ventures. Lastly EMS would like to thank Startup TNT, Foresight Canada and all investors involved, your commitment to seeding cleantech ventures will go a long way to seeing Canada becoming a global leader in clean technologies.
“The beautiful thing about the Cleantech summit is that it unites investors and entrepreneurs together around a common goal: fighting climate change”, said Zack Storms, Founder and Chief-Organizer of Startup TNT. “And, importantly, it brings together an investment syndicate that can offer more than cash to achieve that goal. We are delighted to invest in EMS and look forward to supporting them along their growth journey as they revolutionize and modernize soil remediation practices across the globe.”
Why is there a need to relook at existing soil remediation practices?
An industry that is estimated to be worth $170 Billion has seen limited innovation resulting in current practices being timely, costly, and ironically leaving a significant carbon footprint. In addition, most practices perform assessments at static points in time limiting the ability to have real-time visibility on the status of the contaminated soil.
What EMS technology endeavors to do?
Embracing a suite of 3 inter-related technologies and the power of data analytics, EMS can evaluate the status of customer sites 24/7, 365 days year. This unparallel level of analysis will facilitate the optimization of the soil clean up strategy and empower decision makers to make timely data backed decisions. This approach to soil remediation will significantly save time, money, reduce the remediation carbon footprint by 99% and enable best in-class ESG reporting.
